Common questions

What should be on a job completion checklist?

Testing and commissioning, making the site safe, clean-up, a walkthrough with the customer, and the certificates, photos and notes the office needs to invoice. Add your trade’s specific tests.

How does a job completion checklist reduce call-backs?

Most call-backs come from a step skipped at the end of a job, such as a test not done or a cover not refitted. A checklist makes those steps the same on every job, whoever does it.

Should customers sign off the job?

It’s good practice to walk the customer through the work and note that they’re happy, or what they raised. It settles disputes quickly and shows the job was finished properly.

Can I run job completion checks in Wikidoc?

Wikidoc checklists repeat daily, weekly or monthly, so a per-job list works best as an SOP each tradesperson follows. For recurring work, such as weekly maintenance rounds, import the CSV as a checklist with a supervisor to approve it.
