End of lease cleaning checklist

An end of lease cleaning checklist is the room-by-room list a cleaning team works through when a tenant moves out: the kitchen and oven, bathrooms, bedrooms and wardrobes, living areas, windows and floors, then a final walk-through with photos. Using it on every job means the property passes the final inspection and the bond comes back.

Common questions

What does an end of lease clean include?

Every room cleaned to the condition at the start of the lease, usually including the oven, inside cupboards and wardrobes, windows and tracks, walls spot-cleaned and floors. Check the original condition report for anything specific.

Why take photos after an end of lease clean?

They show the condition you left the property in if the landlord or agent disputes the clean, and they help you sort out any re-clean request quickly.

How long does an end of lease clean take?

It depends on the size and condition of the property. A small apartment may take a few hours for two cleaners, and a large house a full day.
