Common questions

What happens between dental patients?

Sharps and instruments are cleared, every touched surface is cleaned and disinfected, barriers are replaced, waterlines and suction are flushed, and the surgery is set up with sterile instruments for the next patient.

Why flush dental waterlines between patients?

Flushing for 20 to 30 seconds clears water and material that may have been drawn back into the lines during treatment.

Do dental barriers replace cleaning?

No. Barriers protect hard-to-clean surfaces, but anything not covered still needs cleaning and disinfecting, and barriers are replaced after every patient.
